Inauguration of the Portuguese Piloting Phase of Grow international

The Grow International project is represented by partners located in 5 different European countries, each one carrying out in parallel the various activities and actions related to the project objectives. The kick off meeting of the Portuguese Grow International training course, carried out via the partnership between UBI and Parkurbis, took place on the 11th of March at Universidade da Beira Interior, Portugal.

The course started with a short introduction by Professor Mario Raposo (UBI) focusing on the importance of internationalization for Portuguese economy and was followed by short case study of an internationalization process of a Portuguese SME and a discussion aiming at understanding of particular needs of the participants.

The kick off session was the beginning of a two months piloting phase of the course that will be a base to evaluate the value of the course and its impact on participants.

The classroom sessions of the course organized in the regime of blending learning will take place every Wednesday and Thursday in the auditorium of the UBI Main Library at 18.30.

Internationalisation of SMEs – launch of online course

The arrival of March was a big moment for the Grow International project. As from the beginning of the month, the online course for internationalisation for SMEs was available for the nearly 150 participants who signed up to take part in this initial pilot phase.

SMEs, students and unemployed form part of these 150 people keen to further their knowledge and try out the course contents that the Grow International project has put together with the aim of helping SMEs and professionals to become more international and expand their opportunities in the job market. The course covers the essentials of business English, with written, reading and listening exercises, which will help with a European wide communication strategy. The other modules, based the methodology and existing results of “Doing business international” is adapted especially to the realities of South-western and Mediterranean European countries, creating a specific training path and a learning tool for managers and employees of innovative SMEs.

Participants have until the end of May to complete their chosen modules, following which an evaluation of the course will take place, which will ensure that the course is meeting its aims and objectives, and will allow the Grow International team to align the contents accordingly for future use.
