ABOUT THE LIFELONG LEARNING PROGRAMME
The Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) seeks to enable students and learners of all ages, teachers, trainers and all others involved in education and training to take part in stimulating learning experiences as well as to develop the education and training sector across Europe. There are four sub-programmes within LLP: Comeniusfor schools,Erasmusfor higher education, Leonardo da Vincifor vocational education and training andGrundtvigfor adult education. Other projects that are relevant to all levels of education are funded through the “transversal” part of the programme.
The Leonardo da Vinci Programme funds many different types of activities of varying scales: from “mobility” initiatives that enable individuals to receive work-related training in another country, to large-scale cooperation projects for the transfer or the development of innovative practices, and to networks focusing on topical themes in the sector.
Grow International is a multilateral Leonardo da Vinci “Transfer of Innovation” (TOI) project. The aim of TOI projects is to improve the quality and attractiveness of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in the participating countries by building synergies between training institutions, public authorities, industry sectors and SMEs from all over Europe in order to facilitate the transferring of existing experiences, concepts, good practices or innovation to new legal, systemic, sector, linguistic, socio-cultural and geographic environments.
So far, around 300 TOI projects have been funded each year from 2007-2011.
